MY CV

My Story

I have always been motivated to explore, investigate and practice all facets of Art and Design.
I thrive when working autonomously or through collaberation, bringing my skills in communication, time management and co-operation to every project.

2019-PRESENT

This year I have completed a Graduate Diploma in Creative Technologies at Media Design School in Auckland.

I have developed a variety of skills in media design including graphic design, marketing strategies, research and motion design. I have worked productively within a design team, meeting with clients and finding the best solutions to a number of design problems.

I have also ran workshops with students exploring various design ideation approaches as part of my final Capstone project.
I have improved my skills in the following programmes: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premier Pro and After Effects. Projects have been managed through using Trello and Slack.

2015-2018

In March 2015 I moved to Auckland, New Zealand. During my time here I have gained worthwhile experience in customer service and management in both retail and hospitality. My visual art skills have also made it possible for me to take on a variety of rewarding commissions. In November 2016 I started my most challenging project yet, my daughter Audrey. For the past two years I have been raising my child while still taking on commission work and tutoring positions.

2013-2015

Before moving to NZ I worked in an art studio in Melbourne gaining valuable and practical knowledge through teaching and administration.

My role at Cocktails and Canvas included teaching painting to individuals, groups and children. I was also closely involved in the networking, marketing and budgeting aspects of the business.

2010-2013 BACHELOR OF FINE ARTS

In 2010 I commenced study at the University of Ballarat, Victoria, Aus. During my study I worked in the Universities Post Office Gallery, was an academic mentor for first year students and exhibited in a number of group shows. I also developed skills in a wide range of artistic media, including ceramics, metal/woodwork, resin and pewter casting, papermaking, printmaking, oil painting and performance art.

2010- PREVIOUS

In 2007, the year after completing my Higher School Certificate I studied a Certificate IV in Applied Fashion Design and Technology. I succeeded in all aspects of this course, yet found fashion illustration the most rewarding. Due to restrictions arising from poor health I was unable to finish this course.
During my high school years I always studied Visual Arts as an elective, achieving first place in my classes in years 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. I also achieved first place in ceramics year 9 and first place in music years 9 and 10.
After completing my Higher School Certificate in 2006 my final Year 12 Artwork was accepted into ArtExpress, an annual exhibition of exemplary artworks, funded by the NSW Government.
During my school years I also volunteered at Coffs Harbour Regional Art gallery assisting in installations, administration and information.
In my early youth I would exhibit various paintings and drawings around local cafes.
